Patrick and Alison went to

and this is what they saw.

Going to the Sun Road

July 20, 2011 - Our first day in the park we drove Going to the Sun Road all the way across, and around to Many Glacier. It rained a lot of the time, and I slept more than was strictly necessary.... but the views were amazing.

Many Glacier

July 20-21 - We stayed at the Many Glacier hotel, whcih is one of the oldest buildings at the park. The rooms were tiny, but there were balconies and sitting areas with views of the mountains and lake. We took a small walk while we were there- but were diverted by a grizzly encounter further up the trail. I was not eager to run into a bear (they will eat you, you know). We did see one along the road later, a safe distance away.

Lake McDonald

July 22-23 -We finally saw summer when we got to Lake McDonald on the West side of the park. We befriended woodland (mountain?) creatures, stayed in a cabin, and went out on a motor boat. Good times were had by all, especially the squirrels.

Logan Pass

July 24 -On our final day in the park, we drove to the highest spot on Going to the Sun Road, Logan Pass. We had planned to hike it together (anniversary and all) but when I saw the snow I turned and ran the other way. Patrick took up the challenge and hiked the Hidden Lake Trail through the rather high snow, made friends, and got sunburned. Huzzah.
